Welcome to middle school! I look forward to enjoying the upcoming year with our students as we navigate the passage of those complicated, formative middle school years. I teach language arts to sixth and seventh graders. I also teach the Social Cognition elective, which is geared to helping our students who need extra support in the area of social thinking, and Study Skills.
It was my good fortune to have begun my teaching career here at Dartmouth, back in 1999, having graduated the same year with my mild-moderate Education Specialist credential from San Jose State University.
My Level 2 Education Specialist credential was completed at Santa Clara University in 2003. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in political science. Since then, I have added the CLAD and autism certifications to my credential, and did clinical training in the Social Thinking methodology in 2023.
It was working in my kids' classrooms and coaching soccer that led me to education.
I became both inspired and intrigued with the learning process and the power of the mind. I also became fascinated with the lifelong impact that a devoted, passionate teacher can have on her/his students. Leading right up to my entrance into education was the good fortune to have been mentored and trained by George Doub, who inspired legions of educators and human beings in the Family Wellness tradition.
I count myself fortunate to share this important work at Dartmouth, with some of the most dedicated, inspiring educators on the face of this planet.
